My results changed when I switched headphones

They will. Every pair of headphones plays the same tone at a different loudness, which is why Hark labels each result with the headphones and volume it was measured on and only draws trends between results on the same gear. Compare results from the same pair at the same volume.

"Profile" vs "relative"

Four Apple models (AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 4, AirPods Max, EarPods) have a reference profile, so at 50% volume their results are shown as an estimate in dB HL — the unit an audiogram uses. Any other headphones give relative results: real, repeatable, comparable with your own past results on that pair, but not dB HL.

The app says my headphones aren't detected

Hark never blocks a test on this. Pick your pair by hand on the headphone screen. If iOS reports the phone speaker, the result is still recorded — as relative, with both ears hearing every tone.

The tone was too loud

Every tone is capped well below full output and Hark never changes your volume. If anything feels loud, tap Stop (it is on every test screen) and lower the volume. Report it to us with the headphone model.

The eye chart says I'm the wrong distance

The live number comes from the front camera. If it is clearly wrong, tap "I'll hold one metre myself"; the letters are then drawn for exactly one metre. Setting the card scale once (Settings inside the eye chart) improves accuracy on every device.

Restoring a subscription

Settings › Restore Purchases, signed into the Apple Account that bought it. Subscriptions are managed in iOS Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.

Deleting a result or all data

Open any result and tap Delete, or Settings › Delete all my data. Anything you saved to Apple Health stays in Health and can be deleted there.

Is Hark a medical device?

No. Hark is a screening and wellness app. It does not diagnose, treat or replace an examination by an audiologist or optometrist.
